Bon Jovi is the rock band from New Jersey, United States. Fronted by the lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, the band success in the 1980s. During 25 years, Bon Jovi sold over 120 million albums in the world. Bon Jovi formed in 1983 with lead singer, Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres. But the band have only additional bassist right now because in 1994, Alec John Such quitted from the band.
Jon Bon Jovi was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, in 1962 as the son of John Francis Bongiovi Sr. and Carol Sharkey. He has two brothers, Anthony and Matthew. He is an Italian-American. He grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bon Jovi attended St. Joseph High School, in Metuchen, New Jersey during his freshman years. He later transferred to Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin, New Jersey.
Richie Sambora was born in 1959 to a Polish father, Adam Sambora, and Italian mother, Joan Sienila. He grew up in Woodbridge, New Jersey. He attended Woodbridge High School, graduating in 1977. He began playing the guitar at the age of 12 following the guitar legend Jimi Hendrix in 1970. His early days was strongly influenced by blues and 60s rock & roll. His most important influences were Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Page, and Joe Perry. He was also influenced by Spanish classical music and began a life long love with Spanish guitar.
David Bryan Rashbaum was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, in 1962. He began learning piano at age seven. He attended Herbert Hoover Middle School, then J.P. Stevens High School, where he played keyboards for a band called Transition. He graduated from J. P. Stevens High School in Edison. Bryan studied with Emery Hack, a professor at Juilliard, for thirteen years. Bryan accepted into Rutgers University, but dropped out to attend Juilliard, a school devoted to music in New York City.
And the last, Tico Torres, the drummer of the band. He was born in 1953, in New York, and grew up in Colonia, New Jersey. His mother Emma Torres was a Cuban-Italian ancestry while his father Hector was a Cuban-American. He attended John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. He was a jazz fan as a youth and studied music with Joe Morello.
So, they are the New Jersey people, United States of America. And their music is not only for American but for the world. As we know that they still exist until now with their pretty songs. They will always keep the best for their fans. Keep the faith, Bon Jovi!
